Tell us some more about yourself
I emigrated three times and came back. I took the foundation year of my BA in Peterborough and then continued at DeMontfort Uni in Leicester. My MA (Social and Political Theory) in UEA Norwich. For 6 years I was a committee member for the biggest Open Exhibition for the PE district. Between us we organised the whole event. I worked for Peterborough Arts Council on a research project into the feasibility of a self sustaining gallery and studio space for local artists.
I formed a co-operative group and started Peterborough Art House Ltd. When the others dropped out I ran it by myself, unfunded for a further 6 years. Encouraging newly qualified artists and groups to show works alongside local and national artists. I am a painter of abstract and abstracted oil and acylic work. Mainly on canvas. I have represented Peterborough in at art exhibition in its twin City of Bourges. I have exhibited around England and sold a lot of paintings. Mainly the funds from these sales went to keep the Peterborough Art House in financial credit. I have a large collection of paintings; personal, Local, National, International art.
I am a volunteer walk leadser at Ferrymeadows. I formed a weekly walking group myself because I preferred to walk with company and contacted PCC, Ferry Meadows and U3A for little promotional help. I look after my grandchildren in London one day a week. I give support to my family struggling with illness in Cambridge and Peterborough.
