If a Martian came to Peterborough, what would you show him/her/it to explain what the place was about?
I live in Peterborough too short to show them the most attractive or unattractive places in town. In general, it also may depend on what they would like to see.
But I think certainly we could go to the Tourist Information and Peterborough Museum.
If the visit would take place during the weekend, for sure I would show what people do for entertainment at night ::)
