Citizen Power: Peterborough

Peterborough Curriculum - Community nominations required please!

The Peterborough Curriculum is officially underway, with the fantastic team of schools meeting together for the first time tomorrow at Dogsthorpe Junior School. The other schools getting involved in the hard but very exciting work of co-designing curriculum with the Peterborough community are: Ken Stimpson Community School, West Town Primary School, Bishop Creighton Primary School and Thomas Deacon Academy.

The next big priority for us to to find some equally ambitious and exciting partners to work with the schools to help create and deliver curriculum projects for the students that:

1) involve the people who live in Peterborough in the design and teaching of the curriculum
2) involve the context of Peterborough in the content of the curriculum
3) are taught partly in locations in Peterborough outside of the school

We need nominations for partners that could work with schools to deliver this - they could be organisations, businesses, parents, individuals, certain ethnic, linguistic or faith groups, community organisations or anyone else you can think of!

Send any ideas, names, contact details or all of the above to louise.thomas@rsa.org.uk and we will do the rest. We'll circulate the final list of agreed partners once we have it.

So the question is: where is the untapped learning potential in Peterborough? Do let us know!
