“I loved Whenever I Get Blown Up I Think Of You. It’s funny, lyrical, and sad, and above all it does what all the best writing does – makes you tilt your head to one side and look at the world in a slightly different way.” Jonathan Coe

Molly Naylor:

Whenever I Get Blown Up I Think Of You
Friday 18 March – 8pm

How does it feel to have your world blown apart? Britain is booming and Molly moves to London from deepest Cornwall full of naive dreams, high hopes and on a quest to make her life just like the movies. Then on 7/7/2005, she finds herself on an underground train blown up by terrorists and her life is forced to take a different direction. Funny, frank and poetic; this is the true story of what happened next and how we put things back together after they’ve been blown apart.

Written and performed by Molly Naylor. Directed by Yael Shavit. Produced by Sarah Ellis and Apples & Snakes.

**** Edinburgh Fringe Review, The Telegraph, The Times

“Naylor’s first solo show is linguistically rich, and sensitively balanced between light and dark, humdrum and lyrical.” The List

“A rising light of the London poetry scene” The Independent

A big THANK YOU goes to Meadowgate School and Marshland High for getting involved and helping our Young Artists to make this a great show, even after another local school pulled out less than 48 hours before they were due to hang the exhibition! WELL DONE to everyone for pulling it all together! The exhibition runs until the 26th March, where from 2-4pm you are invited to join us for the closing celebration event, with food and drinks, awards and certificates! Please come along and support the Young Artists!

Whilst you are in Wisbech looking at the Young Artist's Exhibition why don't you pop round to see Sue Gunn's Paintings and Calligraphy at Octavia View? Its a beautiful exhibition, delicate and full of beautiful and subtle colour - don't miss it!
Next month at Octavia View we will have an exciting exhibition of linocuts and paintings called Wisbech to Arles - Twinned, by Louise Stebbing. The exhibition will open on Friday 1st April, from 7-9pm, and you are invited to join Louise for a glass of wine and a lovely evening! Please RSVP if you plan to come along. Children are always welcome, but you don't have to bring any if you don't want to!
If you have children aged 6 -11 years old, then don't forget to bring them along to Wisbech and Fenland Museum this Saturday and next (12th and 19th). From 11am until 12 noon our Young Artists will be leading some fun arty sessions.
